Dr. Siebert began his trimming career in 1973, trimming primarily on summer and winter breaks in college and through vet school. Since 1980, his primary work has been hoof trimming, devoting nine months a year to the industry while spending three months a year working as a large animal veterinarian in obstetrics during the calving season in and around Eureka, South Dakota. Dr. Siebert served on the Hoof Trimmers Association Board of Directors from 2000 to 2005. During this time, Dr. Siebert has also written extensively in national dairy publications on subjects including hoof trimming equipment, hoof growth and hoof erosion in confined dairy cow operations. In addition, he has demonstrated the Kansas Method of trimming at several Hoof Health Conferences.
